do you know of any good and free 3D tracker besides blender? i have been wanting to add 3D models to my video for a long time, but blender is not very easy to use for that purpose and I don't think that it auto tracks.

Adobe After Effects of course! The 3D tracker is the easiest and most accurate one-click solution that I've come across, so it's perfect if you're in a hurry!

You can then use a script to export the AE camera to Blender!

Good point! I'm not experienced in Hitfilm, but there might be a camera tracker in there which you can export the data from!

I looked and could not find any thing that worked you can add models to locked down shot. But I am not sure about the rotation tracking that is necessary for a good track. I will experiment with it though.

Let us know if you found a solution  😀  If you'd like, you can send me the footage and I can try getting that tracked and send the file back while you figure out your own workflow?

I don't have the footage yet are you experienced in fusion 9. I heard there is a 3d tracker but I do not know how to use it. the tutorials say it is in the free vision but when I try it it says that you need the paid version.

You're right! Fusion only includes the 3D camera tracker in the paid version of the software

I'd stick to Blender to do the tracking 😀 It's free, and it'll create the camera directly, instead of you having to transfer the positioning data from a third party program. Good luck!
