Insert FootageCrate Transitions into FCPX

Here I'll just quickly run through the steps you'll take to add a transition from FootageCrate into FCPX. There are a bunch of transition types on the website (matte, blending etc), but the most basic and easy to use are the overlays. For example, the nature transitions we have!

Unfortunately, Windows doesn't have FCPX, so I'll have to sketch out the next step. You'll want the two videos that you want to transition between side by side, and then in the layer above these clips, place the FootageCrate transition effect. Ideally, you'll have it so that the cut between the two clips is when the transition covers the entire frame of the image, which will make the transition invisible:

After some research, to the best of my knowledge, it is not possible to add our transitions to the built-in FCPX transition list, but it is still incredibly easy to import our assets within seconds!

To retime a video, first select this button in the toolbar underneath the video preview:

Then select the little control on the top right of the video layer, and drag the transition to the exact length you want it to be at:
